Memphis, TN — The Ettaro Fine Arts Foundation is set to host the 2nd Annual “Bravo Awards” on November 1, 2025, at The Great Hall Event Center in Germantown, TN. This prestigious event aims to honor and celebrate the finest talents in the arts in Memphis, including theater, dance, music, and acting. The foundation, known for its commitment to fostering and recognizing artistic excellence, is thrilled to announce this year’s honorees: Dr. Leo H. Davis, Jr. and Mr. Willard Pugh.
Last Year’s Success

The inaugural “Bravo Awards” in 2024 was a resounding success, selling out at The University of Memphis Holiday Inn Conference Center. The event honored Ettaro’s own creative director, actor Florence “Flo” Roach, and featured musical guests Pastor Courtney Franklin and Stefanie Bolton. Special appearances by actor Willard “Harpo” Pugh from the motion picture “The Color Purple” and Hattiloo Theatre founder, Ekundayo Bandele, added to the evening’s glamour. The cast of Ettaro’s Silver Stage Players also performed a special musical tribute, leaving the audience in awe.
This Year’s Honorees
Dr. Leo H. Davis, Jr.

Dr. Leo H. Davis, Jr. is a distinguished figure in the Memphis arts community. As the Minister of Worship at the Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), he leads one of the largest African-American congregations within the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States. His educational background is impressive, including a Doctor of Musical Arts (Church Music and Conducting) from the University of Memphis, a Master of Music (Organ and Choral Conducting) from the University of Massachusetts, and a Bachelor of Music (Organ) from Roosevelt University (College of Music). Dr. Davis’s contributions to music and worship have been transformative, and his dedication to the arts is a beacon of inspiration.
Mr. Willard Pugh

Willard Earl Pugh, known affectionately as “Harpo,” is a celebrated American actor with a rich and diverse career. He has appeared in mainstream Hollywood films such as “The Color Purple” and “Air Force One,” as well as genre films like “RoboCop 2” and “Mil Mascaras vs. the Aztec Mummy.” Pugh’s talent extends beyond the screen; he has also taught broadcasting and film classes at Chaffey College for 11 years in the early 1990s. His influence in the arts and his commitment to education have made him a beloved figure in the industry.
The Event
The 2nd Annual “Bravo Awards” will take place on November 1, 2025, at 1 PM at The Great Hall Event Center, located at 1900 Germantown Road in Germantown, TN.
